We were lucky enough to try the wonderful Jaipur X recently (review here) which hailed Thornbridge and Jaipur as one of the best breweries and IPA respectively. Sounds like a bold claim but we defiantly stand by this. There are lots of reasons we love Thorndridge (multiple awards, consistently great beer, very high quality core range and cracking seasons additions) but Jaipur is were it all started. Drinking it on tap at The Hop Inn Bier Shoppe (website here) it became an instant favourite in the IPA style.
Jaipur is first and foremost is a classic American style IPA which is amazingly well balanced. Packed full of wonderful citrus and tropical fruit flavours all washed away with a dry bitter finish. Another great thing with Jaipur and Thornbridge is that its taste great in both bottle and tap/pump formats. A good friend of mine Ziggy has had it in mini keg which he swears by it.
Jaipur has amassed a staggering number of awards for a very good reason. Its a fantastically drinkable IPA. If anyone asks us what is your favourite IPA Jaipur comes to mind. Defiantly a classic straight to the point beer that should be on everyone's IPA dream list.
