If I was to open a tap room and bottle shop I would probably open one just like Tap and Bottle. A great selection of beers on tap and pump. A good focus on local brews. A diverse selection of cans and bottles to take away. A fridge stocked with beers to drink in. Funky decoration and a warm welcoming atmosphere. This what you get with Tap and Bottle.
The beers on offer during our last visit covered all bases from a local IPA, a Germany Witbier, a black IPA and a Plumb Porter. The selection is always good and there will defiantly be something on offer that will suit your taste. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly and always happy to offer advise. If there is nothing on tap that suits your taste they always have a great selection of chilled bottles.
The beer stock to take away is small but always good and constantly changing. Always plenty of local fair on offer from the likes of Mad Hatter Brewery, great American brews from the like of Stone Brewery and some of the best modern craft cans from Cloudwater and Beavertown. Tap and Bottle have also recently increased the seating space inside and also set up some benched outside as the crowds often spill into the street on busy evenings.
Another really great think about Tap and Bottle is the obvious wide range of beers they serve. The walls and ceilings are covered with some amazing beers that have been available of pump or tab at one time or another. A great mix of real ales and craft ales of all different styles. We have seen some really exciting beers such as Mojito Sour by Tint Rebel, The Queen of Custard Tarts by Blackjack, Weisse by Neptune and Heathen by Northern Monk. You get the idea. This is a tap room for beer lovers.
If you ever happen to be in Southport and you fancy a beer make the Tap and Bottle you first choice. You definatly will not be disappointed and may get lucky and find a new brew you have never had before.
